A unique property of parallel lines is that these don’t meet at any point. But a slight tilt inside converge them after some distance. A small tilt outwards drift them Miles away
Vrahspati and shukracharya were scholars of veda like parallel lines. A small tilt outwards makes shukracharya Guru of demons and vrihaspati guru of devtas
Ram and Ravna were also scholars of vedas. A slight tilt outwards makes Ravna devil king and Ram a God.
All of us having different political spiritual and religious beliefs are also like parallel lines. A slight tilt inside will make us converge at some time. But a slight tilt outwards will drift us miles apart.
Don’t let a tilt outwards happen in our relations. Don’t spread hatred in social media. If u can’t converge at least run parallely.
Ninty percent of us don’t know each other. We will meet someday somewhere in life because of this beautifully conceptualised group. Let us meet with a smiling face
Do we need to change our nuclear policy
I fully support the initiative taken by our Defense minister to review our outdated Nuclear policy. In Sanskrit it is said “Shathey Shathyam Smacharet”. It means behave with a wicked person like a wicked person. Pakistan has made its intentions clear. Its leaders have stated openly that they will not hesitate to use Nuclear weapons if their national security is in danger. The threat perception from their side is real. Nuclear button is in the hands of army generals. Any hot headed Jihadi General can nuke us. And we are maintaining the outdated policy of ‘No first use’. I wonder what is the use of such deterrent. Our Nuclear Doctrine says that we will not use nuclear weapons till Pakistan destroys our major cities, kills crores of our citizens and destroys our command structure. We will wait till then. After such destruction we reserve our right to retaliate in a massive manner. Rubbish. Who will allow us to retaliate after such massive destruction? Peace keeping forces will arrive after the nuclear attack and nuclear facilities of both the countries will be seized. Focus will be on relief and rehabilitation works. The advantage will be with the country which has exercised this option first.
So time has come that we come out of this Nehruvian legacy. Nehru committed this blunder during Chinese aggression. Armed forces were directed not to fire a single bullet till there was firing from Chinese side. The Chinese kept on marching forward without any resistance from our side. Same thing happened during Kargil war. Armed forces including Air force were directed not to cross border whatever may the provocation. The problem is that we don’t learn from our mistakes. There is urgent need to review Nuclear Doctrine. Instead of no first use policy, we can keep our options ambiguous. We can also say that we will not hesitate to use nuclear option if the situation so warrants. Let them also realize that they can also be nuked.
Should we trust China
Well, China has ditched us again. It has taken the Kashmir issue to the UNSC. I fail to understand why we trust it time and again. You call the President of China to Varanasi or Vadodra. He will enjoy your hospitality but will take the side of Pakistan. A strong India with vibrant economy is not in its interest. China wants its hegemony in this region. It is for us to decide whether we want to accept its hegemony or confront it. China will continue to poke us. China will continue to pursue its expansionist policies in this region. So where should we go from here.
Let us face it that we can not fight militarily with the collective might of China and Pakistan. China is far ahead of us numerically and militarily. We can’t afford to increase our military spending beyond a certain limit. We being a developing country have to ensure spending in Social sector, Education and Health sector also. Let us face it that it was beyond our capaciy to destroy Taliban in Afghanistan. We would have faced more plane hijackings had America not intervened and destroyed the caves of Taliban using bunker buster bombs. And now after the exit of america from Afghanistan, Pakistan will again try to pursue its policy of having strategic depth in Afghanistan by encouraging Taliban. We will have no say in the new arrangement if taliban comes to power.
So strategic partnership is the need of the hour. NATO countries are doing this. Japan and number of other countries are doing this. We must come out of Nehruvian legacy of Non alignment. In the event of crisis, the small countries will not come to our rescue. They can issue only statements. While inking strategic partnership agreements, we must follow it in letter and spirit. We enter into strategic partnership with America, conduct joint military exercises with China and procure military equipment from Russia. This can’t go on in present era of conflicts. We ask the countries to hand over us technologies. Why will they do so if they have trust deficit and have an apprehension that we will hand over this technology to their rivals. I don”t say that we should put all eggs in one basket. But at the same time we should now accept the reality that we are having two hostile nuclear neighbors which are eyeing on our territory. Whatever step the Government of the day might take, these neighbours will back stab you. So to hell with non alignment. Let us have a strong strategic partnership with America and Israel.
Namo is Great
I have crossed 60 now. I have heard speeches of PM from the Red fort every year. But I must say i have never heard so inspiring thought provoking and structured speech as was of Modi this year. It was not as if some speech writer had given him the speech and he read it out. He spoke from the heart. Extempore speech for 92 minutes was an extraordinary fete. The most important announcement was creation of CDS post. Our casualties in Kargil war could have been minimised had there been better coordination between infantry and air force. I had never dreamt that I will see complete unification of Kashmir with India. I would have welcomed if BJP had not insisted on hoisting national flag at lal chowk after imposing curfew. We are not an occupying force. We love Kashmir as well as Kashmiri people. Irresponsible statements like that of Khattar are condemn able. Call of PM to visit 15 tourist places in the country population control Encouraging indigenous products discarding plastic are indicative of the fact that this PM is visionary. That’s why India loves him. Let us strengthen his hands. Modi won’t fail but we can fail him. Fanatics in his party can fail him. If Modi can’t then nobody can develop this country
A new chapter of Kashmir
What a glorious moment of Indian History! A historical blunder has been undone by the Modi Government. What was the use of saying that Kashmir is an integral part of country in the international forums when we ourselves were considering it a disputed territory by conferring special status to it. Pakistan was changing the demography of the valley and we kept our heads buried in the sand like an Ostrich. People who migrated during partitions were still living like refugees on the border areas. A Pakistani could marry a Kashmiri girl and become citizen of Kashmir but Kashmiri girl after marrying an Indian had no right on the ancestral property. A miniscule population of radicalized people was deciding the destiny of entire Kashmir. It was shameful that Kashmiri pandits had to leave their own land and live like refugees in their own country. We have ceded our territory to Pakistan china Bangladesh. No more secession now. If 6th largest economy having 3rd largest army is not able to hold 5 districts of valley then nobody will be able to stop balkanization of this country. It is a beginning and not end of the solution of Kashmir. It would be naive to expect that with the abrogation of Article 370, Pakistan will stop its nefarious designs of fomenting trouble in the valley. Its stooges will create problems once the Curfew restrictions are lifted in the valley. We are heading for tough times. Our Foreign affairs officers will have to work very hard to present our cases strongly before the international community. Modi ji will now have to tame fringe elements in his party. All the Indians have to stand united and stand by the Government.
Thanks Modi ji doval and amit shah for taking this bold initiative.
Has India become unsafe for the minorities
Well, 49 so called intellectuals have again written a letter to PM expressing their anguish over mob lynching and rise of intolerance in the country. I agree that even a single case of mob lynching is condemnable and is a blot on the democratic and judicial system of the country. But at the same time is it fair for us to blow up the things out of proportion and defame our own country in the community of nations?. Riots are not new in this country. Right from the day of partition, this country has seen holocausts in various parts of the country for which both the communities were responsible. One thing goes to the credit of this government that no major riot has taken place during its tenure. Isolated cases of mob violence have been reported in which both the communities have suffered.
The action of the so called intellectuals to demonize Hindus only strengthen fringe elements. The lynchers are anti social elements and are required to be dealt effectively by the law enforcing agencies. Political leaders spreading hatred in the society should be ignored by the media. Unfortunately, with the advent of private TV channels in the country, there is a mad race of TRP. The shrieking news anchors invite a Pakistani , Kashmiri or a fanatic Muslim and then collectively all the participants resort to bashing of that participant resulting in further dividing the society. If you stop watching frivolous TV debates, the soul of India is still secular and society as a whole is peaceful as compared to rest of the countries in this part of the world. I sometimes feel that these TV debates should be banned and TV reality shows should be promoted. The singing shows on various TV channels are helping in the unification of the country whereas TV debates are dividing the country. Salman Ali hailing from a small town of Haryana became a celebrity by participating in Indian idol which proves that Indians love talented people irrespective of the community to which they belong. Anther child Shoaib Ali from Mewat is also on the verge of becoming a celebrity. A girl from Arunachal Pradesh has become heart throb of the nation. Muslims sing Bhajans and Hindu artists sing Naad in these shows and everybody enjoys. We need many such shows to build a society free of hatred and communal tension. Let us voluntarily stop watching these TV debates at least for a year. A message needs to be sent to these TV channels that public at large does not like garbage which they are serving to us. These shrieking TV anchors which convert the TV studio into a fish market and spread hatred in the society need to be discouraged.24S
Adieu Siddarth
The suicide by Café Coffeeday founder Mr Siddharth is a grim reminder of the poor demand and recession in the economy. The tragic end of this young man who challenged Seattle based Starbucks with his indigenous coffee from Karnataka and promoted his brand all over the world is a big setback not only to his brand but to the new young entrepreneurs also. The worst part is that instead of paying homage to this son of the soil, he is not being spared even after his death by the TV channels. Callousness of Visual media can be gauged from the fact that he was being accused of sending money through Hawala transactions when his family was mourning over his death and his body was lying in state. There are ups and downs in the life of every entrepreneur. Every industrialist who is not been able to repay the loans is not a fraudster. NPAs are part and parcel of every business. It becomes the duty of the Government of the day and institutions to rehabilitate such industrialists by restructuring his loans so that their business continues. This tyranny of Enforcement staff and political witch hunting must stop. If we are a 3 Trillion dollar economy, it is largely due to such industrialists. The exodus of Industrialists and tragic death of Mr Siddartha should be an eye opener for us. Don’t demonise the industrialists if you want to build a 5Trillion Dollar economy. Nation loves Modi because he has the courage to take tough decisions which may be unpopular but beneficial to the nation in the long run. Nation stood by him when he took decision of demonetization GST etc. He should not hesitate in taking concrete steps to improve the economy. Bringing rich farmers in the tax net is one such step. After all Modi is known and loved for development not for kejriwal type politics of giving freebies
A Tribute to martyrs of Kargil war
Today, we are commemorating the sacrifices of the Heroes of Kargil war. 557 army men sacrificed their lives to evict Pakistani intruders who had captured the strategic heights in Kargil sector. While it is a time to celebrate our victory, it is time for introspection also. No doubt, Kargil is a saga of valour of our bravehearts but at the same time it is collective failure of our system also. The previous Governments did not bother to strengthen the surveillance system in the border areas with the result Pakistani intruders who in fact were their regular army men in the guise of militants occupied these strategic heights and fortified the bunkers. Musharaff in a TV interview very proudly said that he had also spent a night with his men in this area. This intrusion remained unnoticed for over a month and ultimately a shepherd informed the army that some armed men was seen roaming there. Ostensibly, army had not adequate surveillance system to keep a vigil in this area. Even after this intrusion came to the notice, the Nehruvian legacy prevented us to launch a frontal attack on Pakistan apprehending that it will escalate into a nuclear war. Infantry men suffered causalities as they were fighting with the enemy which was firing at them from fortified bunkers from strategic heights. Airforce and artillery were called at a very late stage and by that time we had lost our 557 brave young boys.
I am sure things would have been different had Modi been PM at that time. He would not have thought even once of not using air force in our own area or even crossing the borders. We must learn such things from United States who value the lives of their infantry men. Infantry is used only after neutralizing the enemy locations through heavy bombardments.
I admire Modi because for the first time this Government is equipping the army with latest equipments. It may be S-14 Missile system, Sea hawks, Chinuk helicopters or bunker buster bombs. Borders of such a vast country cannot be guarded without modernizing the army. We lost half of our Kashmir and vast area to China only because of apathy of Nehru who had decided not to incur any expenditure on the modernization of army. We should be grateful to China because it was only after this debacle our Governments decided to equip the army. Modernization of army is a continuous process and should be our top priority. Our real tribute to the Kargil Martyrs would be to ensure that there will be no Kargil in future. Let army decide its action without any political interference. Whether it is prudent to cross the border or not should be left to the army. No Panchsheel or Nehruvian legacy should tie their hands. A unified command to handle such situations without the interference of Civilian authorities is the need of the hour.

Article 3.0
The interim budget of Union Government has presented another face of Modi Government. Modi has joined the mad race of squandering the funds of State exchequer to appease vote bank but in a prudent manner. Keeping in view that interim budget was for three months, he could have spent more lavishly. But he avoided it because he has to come back again. He has tried to appease the middle class in a very shrewd manner. Instead of giving straight exemption upto Rs 5 lakh he chose to give rebate under Section 87 A of the act. This would help the Government to broad base tax payers as they will have to submit income tax returns to avail of this benefit. Moreover, the relevance of Direct taxes is going to become insignificant as more emphasis is on indirect taxes.
DBT of Rs 6000 to farmers having small land holdings is a step in right direction. It is better than blanket waiver of farm loans. The critics of the government might exploit the situation by saying that it amounts to pea nuts. They must see that it is being given with a good intention. My Grand mother used to give Rs 1 in good old times. The amount might be insignificant for the Congress leaders for whom even economy class of aeroplane is cattle class but an emotional person understands such gestures. Amount of Rs 6000 might be insignificant for a Delhite but it means much to a farmer having small land holding and whose income is 2000 pm. True there will be hiccups. Government will have to build a database and seed the adhaar card with bank account. It is naive to expect that a farmer of rural area will have access to this technology. Further DBT is also prone to frauds and corruption as someone has to feed this data. I have seen such frauds after DBT also. But a step in right direction has been taken and we should welcome it.
